A shortie..Quick spur of the moment post.

I recently read a food blog by a young man...guess what, he was only 16 when he started his blog. He ate at restaurants such as Per Se..Per Se is an upscale restaurant owned by Thomas Keller a renowned chef who also own another restaurant called The French Laundry. If you don't know about these restaurants or the chef, perhaps you should google it and read up on their history as well as their food philosophy and concepts.
At the age of 15 I was trying to impress people with good grades, fighting peer pressure and worrying about other things such as what I wanted to be when I grew up. Food was really nowhere on my mind much less going to culinary school or even writing about food. As a matter of fact I didnt even know there was any such thing, job or career called food writing. My food and thoughts about food at that age consisted of pastelita and fried chicken, peas and rice and stew chicken or curry chicken and white rice among other foods. But nowhere in my mind was anything such as dauphinoise potatoes, foie gras, or prime rib. If you had asked me what they were, I would have been stumped, confused... but it is with travelling and experiencing different cuisines, my palate has expanded and I have learnt so much however. I wish I had started at the age 16, because starting at such a young age would have given me so much time to properly develop myself so that by now at the age of 26 almost 27 I would have been fully immersed and have enough experience to propel me forward rather than  being a Commis I could have been a Chef de Partie or even Sous Chef.
My advice to anyone  if you are thinking of becoming a chef or foodie, would be to start now and this is mostly to anyone much younger than me because by the time you reach my age you would have a lot of experience that can be very useful to you.
